Lovett, Womack coming to Lisle's Morton Arboretum
Music lovers will have much to choose from this weekend at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle with performances by artists ranging from Lyle Lovett and his Large Band to Lee Ann Womack and Mark Chesnutt.
Lovett, a four-time Grammy Award winner, performs outdoors at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at the arboretum, 4100 Route 53. Lovett, who has sold more than four million records, fuses elements of the blues, country, folk, gospel and jazz.
Tickets for his performance, which will include music from his latest album, "Natural Forces," are $49 to $51.
On Saturday, Aug. 7, Lee Ann Womack takes center stage at the arboretum. A five-time Country Music Association Award winner, her hit "I Hope You Dance" spent six weeks atop Billboard's Country Singles chart.
Known for her torch songs, she's won two Grammy Awards.
Her concert begins at 7 p.m. and also features an appearance by Mark Chesnutt, a traditional country music artist whose newest release is "Outlaw," a tribute to his musical heroes. He has four platinum albums, five gold albums and 14 number one singles.
Tickets for the Womack/Chesnutt performance are $43 and $45.
The arboretum series continues at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, with an appearance by Grammy Award winner Marc Cohn, who gained fame for his hit "Walking in Memphis." Cohn also will be performing songs from his new album, "Listening Booth: 1970."
He'll be joined by Bettye LaVette, a soul and rock singer whose new album is "Interpretations: The British Rock Songbook."
Tickets for the Cohn/LaVette concert are $34 to $46.
