How would you manage that?Effective administrators manage those issues in compliance with board policy and within the guidelines of the board's budget document.In tough economic times, many students (and working professionals) turn to a community college for its educational value. How do you ensure that a person's financial sacrifice equates into an educational benefit?The delivery of quality service at a competitive rate is a valuable benefit regardless of the economic climate.Is a tax rate increase needed and, if so, how do you justify it?Not at this time.Community colleges provide many services to a diverse population. Is there a service your college should be providing that it is not, or reaching a segment of the population that it is not?I'm not currently aware of any gaps in service coverage, but my understanding will expand, and any gaps for which the talent, space, funding, and public support exists, should be addressed.If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? If you're an incumbent, list your accomplishments or key initiatives in which you played a leadership role.I've been encouraged to seek this position by numerous friends and many within the broader 'trustee community' as a natural follow-up to my 11 years as an IMRF trustee. I agree I have the commitment, time, energy, patience and experience to do quality board work for the College of DuPage community.
