Dist. 15 needs to brush up on basics
Does District 15 board President Gerald Chapman have a new rules book?
I suggest all members of the Dist. 15 board obtain a copy of “Robert’s Rules of Order.” It will explain what one can or cannot do to the minutes and motions in meetings.
The advance copies of minutes give the board members the ability to study the minutes to offer corrections before approval. If the minutes are incorrect make a motion to not accept the minutes. Good luck in trying to get someone to second it!
On the motions already voted on, I believe one has to make a substitute motion and not just change them to the way it is seen by the board president. That is how one clarifies motions.
Shame on the secretary if you are changing the motions. You too should obtain and understand “Robert’s Rules of Order.”
Maybe the board should understand the actual Rules of Order before they move on to more substantive business!
