McHenry police seek bank robbery suspect

A bank in McHenry was robbed Friday afternoon by a masked suspect who gave a teller a note demanding money, police said.

The suspect, described as an adult white male, about 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches with an average build, took an undisclosed amount of money from the First National Bank, 612 S. Route 31, at 2:41 p.m., said McHenry Police Deputy Chief Daniel Kreassig.

The man, whose face was covered by some sort of cloth mask, was wearing a black hooded winter jacket with yellow on the front, black pants and dark colored boots, Kreassig said.

No weapon was displayed, he said.

Police have surveillance footage of the suspect, but it was not released Friday night.
