Wheaton, can't think with wallets, egos

I read the article today regarding the sale of Hubble Middle School. It is interesting because as a business person (which I think some of the board and superintendent think they are, not educators. of course. or they wouldn't run things the way they do),

I do not see any plans or cooperation. I see a war of wills and egos. Wheaton Park District, the city of Wheaton, you all need to focus on what is best for the community and city. No more giant vacant buildings blocking the view of our city.

No more empty, broken down storefronts in our downtown. Downtown needs a grocery store but not some gross neon lighted fast food restaurant or big box retail/ discount store. We don't need greedy overcharging landlords driving good business away, either.

Please help us, we are in desperate need of planners who are not completely thinking with their wallets and their egos. We need planners that are really looking out for the community and the land to make it the best it can be.
