Hawks sign Olsen
The Blackhawks signed defenseman Dylan Olsen, the team's first choice and 28th overall in the 2009 NHL entry draft, to a three-year contract.
Olsen, 19, paced team defensemen with 12 assists and ranked second with 13 points in 17 games through December as a sophomore at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Over parts of two seasons with the Bulldogs, he had 24 points (2 goals, 22 assists) and 71 penalty minutes in 53 games.
Born in Salt Lake City, Olsen is representing Canada at the 2011 World Junior Championships in Buffalo, N.Y.
