McHenry needs more high-paying jobs

The proposed Lakewood Sportsplex does not offer the kind of jobs we need in McHenry County. What we need in McHenry County is more corporate headquarters and offices. There are far too few businesses that pay the workers enough that they can afford to buy a house here.

We have enough big box stores and other low-wage job providers. When will the county begin to attract businesses that offer white collar jobs — jobs that are high paying, full time and year round? The Sportsplex is another example of the county attracting businesses that offer low-paying or seasonal jobs.
