Hull draws a crowd in Wheaton
Hockey legend Bobby Hull was in Wheaton on Wednesday to sign copies of his new book, “The Golden Jet.”
Hundreds of fans were expected for the former Blackhawks star’s appearance at the Bank Restaurant and Bar, 121 W. Front St.
Hull signed books, pucks, sticks and other memorabilia.
It was “a great opportunity to spend some time with a real legend,” said Mike Burke, a co-owner of the restaurant.
Hull, now 72, is regarded as one of the greatest left wingers of all time. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983 after a career with the Blackhawks, Winnepeg Jets and the Hartford Whalers.
His new book is a retrospective on his life and career.
“He is a great role model for the kids,” said Wheaton resident Melissa Stoneburner.
