Vernon Hills falls to Palatine

Senior center Brian Berzanski scored a season-high 14 points for Vernon Hills' boys basketball team in its 49-44 nonconference loss to visiting Palatine on Friday night.

Darren Hoveydai had 9 points for Vernon Hills (11-6), which lost for the sixth time in its last seven games. DaVaris Daniels scored all 8 of his points in the first quarter for the Cougars, and Stephen Curry also had 8 points in the loss.
