Don't send us to 'net for the full story
Have you heard the media lately, especially on television? They give you a story and never finish it. Their next line is: “For the full story go to www.com.”
With technology today, just about everything is on the Internet. The point I'd like to make is that people are not aware of seniors, and I know many, who watch television news daily and don't wish to go to the Internet or in today's economic conditions they may not be able to run out and buy personal computers.
I, as a senior, agree only because I see and hear this daily on the news stations. I personally do e-mail and love to use the Internet for other reasons. What may be entertaining for me may not be for my senior friends.
Have any of these news stations ever given a thought that many of our seniors today are not all that gung ho about the Internet? Looks as though if this continues the seniors will lose all means of communication as even the existing newspapers get smaller and smaller and there is less to read.
Let's hope the news media will let out a little bit more news of the story and leave out the phrase “For the full story go to www.com.” Maybe the news media will take a different attitude and just maybe finish a few news items just for the change, to accommodate our seniors who do not wish to go to web searching.
