Barrington-area fire district to meet with neighbor agencies

Officials from the Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District are planning to meet with representatives of other nearby fire departments Thursday as they prepare for a possible split from the village of Barrington’s fire department at the end of 2013.

The informal meeting is intended to pave the way for potential mutual-aid agreements with the independent fire district, which serves the area around Barrington’s corporate borders.

The meeting, at which 40 people have already confirmed their attendance, will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the district’s Fire Station 3, 22222 N. Pepper Road in Lake Barrington.
