Bears' wideout Bennett OK after car accident

Chicago Bears receiver Earl Bennett is apparently OK after an early morning accident that left his car totaled.

Illinois State Police reports Bennett's 1973 Chevy Impala was hit from behind by a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire on the feeder ramp to Interstate 90/94 in Chicago early Monday.

Master Sgt. Jeff Kashmeier says no one was injured and alcohol was not involved. He adds the driver of the Pontiac was cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license and for failing to reduce speed.

Kashmeier says Bennett had a passenger with him but isn't sure who it was. The Chicago Tribune, citing sources, says cornerback D.J. Moore was in the car.

The accident happened after the Bears beat Buffalo 22-19 in Toronto on Sunday. Bennett had four catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in that game.
