Hanover Twp. recognizes Community Service Award winners

More than 130 people attended the third annual Hanover Township Supervisor’s Community Service Award banquet Wednesday, April 13, at the Bartlett Fire Barn.

The awards committee, comprised of Linda Best, Lori Ann Airdo, Lee Beattie, Edward O’Connell and Christine Buchanan, presented awards to winners in five categories: Sarah Brown, Outstanding Youth Volunteer; Rodney Harms, Outstanding Senior Volunteer; Cathy Tempir, Outstanding Adult Volunteer; Kiwanis Club of Streamwood, Streamwood Key Club and Bartlett Key Club for Outstanding Organization; and Derango Family Dental, Outstanding Business of the Year.

“There were many outstanding nominees. Our community is fortunate to have all these dedicated individuals, organizations and businesses who donate their time and resources,” said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire.

Those winning the Supervisor’s Choice Awards were: Joyce Davis, Outstanding Senior Volunteer; Cecilia Green, Outstanding Adult Volunteer; Michelle Tomczak, Outstanding Youth Volunteer; Gymkhana Gymnastics and Dance, Outstanding Business of the Year; and Streamwood VFW Post 5151, Outstanding Organization of the Year.
