Scout-O-Rama at Saint Mary of Vernon

Saint Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, Route 45 west of Butterfield Road, Vernon Hills, will host its Fall Scout-O-Rama recruiting day from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23. Boys between the 6 and 20, families and friends are invited to enjoy a free afternoon of activities, exhibits and hot dogs, popcorn and drinks. Cub Scout activities include driving a Cubmobile, marshmallow catapult, back pack relay, and peanut hunt. Boy Scout opportunities include fire building, “what’s wrong with this campsite,” and a reflection trail hike. Venture Crew, for boys and girls 14 to 21, will offer a campfire and skits.
