Three D214 personnel among ‘Those Who Excel’

The Illinois State Board of Education recognized District 214 school board member Bill Dussling with the 2011 Those Who Excel Award of Excellence on Saturday, Oct. 22.

The award was presented at the 37th annual Those Who Excel awards banquet and program in downstate Normal. Dussling was honored in the Board Member category.

The state board annually bestows three levels of honor at its awards banquet — Award of Excellence, Award of Merit and Award of Recognition. Of the six nomination categories, District 214 entered nominees in three and garnered recognition in each one.

The Award of Recognition was presented to Elk Grove High School Assistant Principal for Student Activities Rick Mirro, in the School Administrator category.

Prospect High School teacher Erik Hodges was honored in the Classroom Teacher category.
