Girls approached by man in Wheaton while walking to school
Three young girls reported to Wheaton police that they were approached by a man in a vehicle while walking to school Monday morning.
A man driving a vehicle described as an older, boxy, four-door car pulled up to the girls between 8:45 and 9 a.m. while they were walking on the west side of West Street at Madison Avenue, according to police.
One of the girls said the man had a naked baby doll in his lap when he stopped his car, rolled down the window and asked the girls if they were going to school, according to police.
The girls ignored the man, and he drove off north on West Street toward Harrison Avenue.
The man is described by police as a clean-shaven, 30 to 40 years old, with a large build.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Cmdr. James Volpe at (630) 260-2055.
