Dads and daughters camp together at Fox Lake-area event

Dads will bond with their daughters during the Father and Daughter Indian Princess Fall Camp Out at YMCA Camp Duncan near Fox Lake Saturday, Sept. 18.

Fathers and daughters interested in joining the program should call Sue at the Big Waters Federation in Des Plaines, (847) 296-4718.

It's a known fact that the critical age of child development is in the early formative years. It is then that kids learn most of the habits and acquire many of the skills that will carry them into adulthood.

Unfortunately, it is also the time when dads are occupied with working for their families - a time when they are most needed by their children.

Big Waters Federation Indian Theme Programs, set against the background of American folklore, specifically enable parents and children to discover each other through sharing and working together.

Through participation in the many activities, fathers and their children learn to come together as "Pals Forever" and "Friends Always."

Parents and their children are welcome to visit a local club or tribe and spend time with each other and with other parents and their children, playing games and making crafts.

They can also join the Big Waters Federation and spend time with each other and with other parents and their children at campouts, as well as attend outdoor activities.

Indian Princesses have tribes in Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, Des Plaines and Prospect Heights. To identify the group nearest you, or for details, visit bigwaters.org.
