Police probe suspicious incident near Wheaton bus stop
Wheaton police are investigating a report of a young girl being photographed near her bus stop, officials said Monday.
The girl told police she was waiting for her school bus at Nelson Circle and Dawes Avenue about 7:30 a.m. May 2 when a white four-door car stopped near the corner.
The female driver reached out of the window with a cellphone and appeared to photograph the student before driving east, according to a police report filed Saturday. Police said the driver did not speak during the incident, and the girl did not recognize the vehicle.
Police described the motorist as a white woman age 40 to 45 with short, straight black hair and large wire-frame glasses. The car was described as a boxy sedan with a loud muffler.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (630) 260-2161.
