Schaumburg police to host child safety event

The Schaumburg Police Department in partnership with the Schaumburg Township District Library and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children will be participating in the national Take 25 child safety campaign Saturday, May 26.

Take 25 encourages parents to take 25 minutes to talk to their children about safety and ways to prevent abduction. From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., members of the police department and the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association of Schaumburg will meet with parents and children in the lobby of the Schaumburg Township District Library at 130 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg.

Child fingerprinting will be done and kids will be able to color and make buttons. Parents can obtain child safety materials and related information to assist them in speaking with their children about safety and abduction prevention.
