Farm art competition deadline:

The Lake County Heritage Farm Foundation is reminding artists the deadline for its competition based on farm scenes is Friday, June 1. The competition is co-sponsored with the Lake County Discovery Museum and is open to artists, 18 and over from Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. The topic of “The Farm: Images from the Heartland 2012” is farm scenes: buildings, equipment, animals, farm fields, crops, and people. The art will be juried, and prizes will be awarded. Work of winning artists will be displayed in the White Room at the Discovery Museum, Lakewood Forest Preserve, from Aug. 26 to Nov. 4. Any original two-dimensional medium reproducible by photographic process is acceptable but computer-generated or digital art must be labeled as such.
