Schaumburg High hosts 'Turkey Bowl'
Schaumburg High School hosted its inaugural "Turkey Bowl for Charity" Friday, Nov. 20.
Dusting off their old cleats, 30 Schaumburg High School staff members gathered to play a flag football game to raise money and collect canned goods to be donated to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry.
Two teams, one coached by Principal Tim Little, and the other by Dean of Students Connie Rahn, battled it out with coach Rahn's team holding off a late comeback to win 15-13.
Though the faculty provided the action on the field, it was Schaumburg High School students who truly made this event a success. In addition to student volunteers for game officials, pep band and half-time entertainment, more than 3,000 canned food items were collected and more than $300 raised for the Schaumburg Food Pantry.
