Wauconda director honored

Wauconda Director of Village Operations David Lawry was recently named to the American Public Works Association’s National Top Ten Leaders of the Year. The organization recognizes 10 public works professionals from the U.S. and Canada each year for career-long dedication and service, professionalism, and expertise in public works infrastructure. Prior to working in Wauconda, Lawry served for 14 years as the public services director in Elgin, where he led construction and design on a 185,000-square-foot recreation center. Lawry will be honored at a reception hosted by the APWA at Concord Banquet Hall in Lake Zurich on May 29, and at an awards ceremony in Anaheim, Calif., in August.
