What can you believe from Biden?
That huge sound you heard the other day wasn't a sonic boom or some rolling thunder, but several hundred million people laughing at Vice President Joe Biden's comment on the Larry King CNN program, about the victory in Iraq.
"The democracy in Iraq could be one of this administration's greatest achievements. You're going to see the 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You're going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government."
Yes, you read right. Just for the record, it was three years ago that Sen. Harry Reid declared the war lost; then-Sen. Barack Obama opposed the Bush administration military surge, and then-Sen. Joe Biden wanted Iraq divided into three parts. In fact, in a presidential debate in 2007 Biden said, "It's a mistake to believe there is any possibility in my lifetime of having the Iraqis get together and have a unity government in Baghdad that pulls the country together. This will never happen."
And the Obama administration did not orchestrate the plan for the troops to come home. President George W. Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nourial-Maliki signed that order called the "status of forces agreement." This was endorsed by Gen. David Petraeus. Statements like this just continue to reinforce the American public dismay and distrust with this administration. What do they say that you can believe?
