Hardwood flooring store opens in West Chicago
Lumber Liquidators, which has more than 210 stores in the U.S., has added another one to its roster with its new store in West Chicago.
Lumber Liquidators, a large specialty retailer of hardwood flooring, takes a “no frills” approach, according to the company. The stores are simple, scaled-down warehouses often located in non-retail, off-the-beaten-track locations. Tom Sullivan, founder and chairman of Lumber Liquidators, began selling surplus wood in 1993 behind a trucking company outside of Boston.
“We're committed to offering our customers everyday low prices on our high-quality products and we pride ourselves on keeping our overhead low as well. That's why you won't see us opening stores in fancy, high-rent districts,” says Sullivan.
While keeping costs down is part of the company's mission, Lumber Liquidators is also committed to offering high-quality, name-brand products it can confidently stand behind. Many of the company's brands come with a 25-50 year warranty, setting it apart from the competition, Sullivan said.
Between hardwood, bamboo, cork and laminate, Lumber Liquidators offers more than 150 varieties of flooring, including premier brands such as Bellawood, Dream Home, Builder's Pride, Morning Star and Eco-World. Recently added was an expanded selection of handscraped floors and stained bamboo.
The store layout is designed so that the shopper can see, feel and walk on many different species and styles.
“At Lumber Liquidators, we want customers to feel comfortable with their flooring options,” said Sullivan. “Our flooring experts help customers decide what is best for their home – and we believe customers feel good knowing that we stand behind our products.”
The new West Chicago store, located at 33W461 Roosevelt Rd., is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
