Romeoville man charged after Woodridge shooting
A Romeoville man was arrested on a marijuana charge after police responded to a report of a gunshot fired in Woodridge, authorities said Thursday.
Officers were called about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday to the 8000 block of James Avenue after witnesses heard the gunshot near the Natural Falls apartment complex.
Police detained several people who were in a vehicle in the area. They said witnesses indicated a shot was fired into the air after an argument between two groups. No injuries were reported, and the shooting remained under investigation.
Arrested on a charge of marijuana possession was Denzel Griffin, 20, of the 1700 block of Sierra Trail in Romeoville, according to police. Authorities said additional charges were expected.
