Electricity aggregation packets shipping out to residents

Residents of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Palatine, Vernon Hills and Wheeling should soon receive packets explaining the electricity aggregation contract the communities recently entered into as a group to reduce residents’ energy costs.

The communities have an agreement with Integrys Energy Group to provide electricity to residences and small businesses for 4.8 cents per kilowatt hour, compared with the current ComEd residential price of 8.23 cents.

Residents who want to be part of the program, which calls for 100 percent renewable energy, do not have to do anything. Those who do not want to participate must opt out by May 22. And anyone who has already signed up for another alternative company will not be included.

More information can be found on Arlington Heights’ website, vah.com.
