Ackermann comes through for Barrington

Ellie Ackermann scored at 6:58 of the third overtime to give top-seeded Barrington a 1-0 victory over Cary-Grove in Friday night’s Class 3A girls soccer regional championship at Lake Zurich. Ackermann scored her sixth goal off an Amy Pierce assist.

Hannah Leudtke had 3 saves for the Fillies. They play in Tuesday’s 5 p.m. Rockford Boylan sectional semifinal against the host Titans, who beat Rockton Hononegah 3-1.

at New Trier: The host Trevians scored twice in each half to get past Maine West 4-0. New Trier next plays at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a sectional semifinal at Niles North.
