Fly a kite this weekend

The annual Loop the Lakes 5K run/walk is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, April 28 at the Century Park boat dock shelter, Route 60 at Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills. Fees are $25 to benefit the Vernon Hills Park District scholarship program. That is followed at 11 a.m. by a free family kite fly at Century Park. Participants can bring their own kits or purchase one for $6. Park near the boat dock shelter and follow the signs. Visit www.vhparkdistrict.org.
