Coleman Elementary

On Monday, students in grades 1-6 minus the 4th graders, will perform a Spring Sing at Elgin High School at 6:30 p.m.

Creekside Elementary

On Friday, the school will host their own “Voice” program from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the gym. It will also be held next Friday, May 4 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Hawk Hollow Elementary

During the entire week, the Scholastic Book Fair will take place in the library during school hours. Family Night at the Book Fair will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.

Lincoln Elementary

On Wednesday, students in grades 1-3 will perform a Spring Sing at 6:00 p.m. at Elgin High School; students in grades 4-6 will perform at 7:15 p.m.

Parkwood Elementary

On Wednesday, kindergarten orientation for parents of incoming kindergartners will be held at the school at 9 a.m. For further information, please call 630-213-5595.

Timber Trails Elementary

During the entire week, the Scholastic Book Fair Luau will take place in the upstairs hallway outside the office during school hours. Additional evening hours are Monday from 8-9 p.m. and Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Also on Friday, the school will celebrate their different cultures with a Multi-Cultural Literacy Night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. A fashion show, entertainment, arts & crafts, storytelling and student literacy projects will take place and ethnic foods at the Taste of Timber Trails will be available for purchase.

Washington Elementary

On Tuesday, the Spring Sing will be presented at Larkin High School in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. for students in grades 1-3. Students in grades 4-6 will perform at 7:30 p.m.

In other news,

On Friday at 7 p.m. and on Saturday at 3 p.m., 40 Channing Elementary students in grades 3-6 will perform in Elgin Opera's production of April in Austria at the Sears Gallery at Elgin Academy. The gallery is located at 350 Park St. in Elgin. Tickets are $15 per adult and $10 per student and senior citizen. Tickets can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com or at the front door the day of the performance.
