6-year sentence for Streamwood man who admitted selling cocaine
A Streamwood man pleaded guilty Thursday to possessing and delivering a controlled substance near a middle school and park last summer.
In exchange for the guilty plea, a Cook County judge sentenced Ernan Alfaro, 30, to six years in prison and ordered him to pay $3,750 in fines.
Police arrested Alfaro in September after he sold them about 29 grams of cocaine near Rahlf’s Woods Park in Streamwood, prosecutors said. The arrest followed several exchanges authorities say Alfaro had with undercover officers at various Streamwood locations.
Alfaro’s background includes convictions for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, battery, animal cruelty and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury or death.
He received credit for the 224 days he has spent in custody since his arrest.
