Award committee sees record numbers of nominations this year

More than 150 people attended the fourth annual Hanover Township Supervisor’s Community Service Award banquet on April 11 at the Bartlett Fire Barn.

The awards committee, including Linda Best, Lori Ann Airdo, Lee Beattie, Edward O’Connell and Lori Glaser, presented awards to winners in five categories: Kelly Drwal, Outstanding Youth Volunteer; Norma Smith, Outstanding Senior Volunteer; Ken Francesconi, Outstanding Adult Volunteer; Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department Inc., for Outstanding Organization; and Ultra Foods, Outstanding Business of the Year.

“This year we received more nominations than ever,” said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire. “Volunteers in our community provide an invaluable service and we were honored to recognize these individuals, businesses and community organizations for their noble contributions.”

Those winning the Supervisor’s Choice Awards: Lee Beattie, Outstanding Adult Volunteer; Tyler Wells, Outstanding Youth Volunteer; Advanced Gastroenterology Associates, Outstanding Business of the Year; and Immanuel United Church of Christ of Streamwood and Knights of Columbus, Mary’s Millennium Council #12801, Outstanding Organization of the Year.
