Investigation of school bus driver continuing

The criminal investigation of a school bus driver accused of inappropriately touching a student from Barbara Rose Elementary School in South Barrington two weeks ago is expected to take until at least next week, South Barrington Police Chief Michael Deegan said Thursday. The number of students being interviewed in the investigation increased when it was learned the Barrington Transportation Company employee had previously driven routes serving North Barrington School and Barrington Middle School-Prairie Campus, elsewhere in Barrington Unit District 220, he explained. The driver has been on leave since April 16, the day allegations were reported to District 220 officials. South Barrington police, Lake County Sheriff’s deputies and the Department of Children and Family Services are working together on the investigation, Deegan said.
