Teen bands can sign up for Palatine park’s ‘Battle’
Palatine Park District hosts the annual Battle of the Bands 7 p.m., Monday, June 11 at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 262 E. Palatine Road, Palatine.
Groups interested in participating in the 2012 Battle of the Bands are required to fill out a registration form and submit a CD/DVD or links to their website, My Space page, or YouTube site identifying three to four songs for review.
Band members must be 19 years old or younger to enter, and currently attending high school. Bands from Palatine will be selected first. Bands not meeting these criteria will be given consideration.
This event is co-sponsored with Salt Creek Park District, the village of Palatine and the Palatine Jaycees.
Prizes for the bands this year have been provided by The Drum Pad and The Music Room.
Bands chosen to participate will perform on June 11, for the public and a panel of judges. One band will be selected to advanced to the Illinois Battle of the Bands Regional competition, an Illinois Park and Recreation Association event. Additionally, the village of Palatine will select a band to perform at Palatine Street Fest in August, and the Palatine Jaycees will select a band to perform at their Hometown Fest in July.
