U-46 School News for Week of April 9
Larkin High School
On Friday and Saturday, the play “My Son, Pinocchio: Gepeto's Musical Tale” will be presented at 7 p.m. There will also be a 9:30 a.m. matinee on Thursday, April 12 and 19. The play will also be presented the following week on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Admission is $6 per student and $8 per adult.
Streamwood High School
Streamwood High School will be performing the romantic but tragic tale West Side Story on Thursday, April 12, Friday, April 13 and 2 shows on Saturday, April 14. All shows begin at 7:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on April 14. Admission for U-46 students is $5; adults are $8 before April 4 and $10 at the door.

Tefft Middle School
On Friday, a dance for 7th grade students sponsored by the Student Council will be held in the cafeteria at 6:30 p.m.
Century Oaks Elementary
On Monday, a Family Reading Night/Book Fair will be held in the library learning center from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Elgin High School students will read to the students. There will also be an Art Expo.
Clinton Elementary
On Thursday, a Spring Sing will be held at the South Elgin High School auditorium. Students in grades K-3 will perform at 6:30 p.m.; students in grades 4-6 will perform at 7:30 p.m.
Hilltop Elementary
On Friday, the annual Fun Fair will be held at the school from 6-9 p.m.
Horizon Elementary
On Wednesday, students in SWAS grades 4-6 will present a Science Fair from 9:00-10:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose room.
On Friday, Family Bingo Night will take place at Bartlett High School in the commons area. Doors open at 6 p.m. with bingo starting at 6:30 p.m. Pizza, pop and candy will be available for purchase. Free popcorn will be provided by the PTO.
Wayne Elementary
On Friday, a Fun Fair will be held from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the school. Games, prizes, food & a raffle will take place. Each classroom provides a theme basket for the raffle. Also featured this year will be a 52 foot inflatable obstacle course as well as a face painter. There will also be a bake sale sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 931.

The second phase of the U-46 "Art is Elementary" show opened with a reception on March 15; the display continues through April 12. Schools with artwork featured are: Bartlett, Channing, Coleman, Glenbrook, Hanover Countryside, Harriet Gifford, Hawk Hollow, Heritage, Highland, Laurel Hill, Lowrie, McKinley, Ontarioville, Otter Creek, Parkwood, Ridge Circle, Sheridan, Spring Trail, Timber Trails, and Wayne Elementary Schools.
The shows are on the lower floor of the First Community Bank at 50 Tyler Creek Plaza (corner of Big Timber Rd. and McLean Blvd.) in Elgin. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., and Saturday 9:00 a.m. - noon. The public is welcome.
