Streamwood man pleads guilty to sexual abuse

A Streamwood man, who authorities say sent as many as 15 sexual messages a day to an underage girl, pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse Monday in Rolling Meadows.
A Cook County judge sentenced Manuel C. Castro, 41, of the 400 block of East Schaumburg Road, to 180 days in jail and ordered him to register as a sex offender in exchange for his guilty plea.
Prosecutors said the victim’s mother found text messages on her daughter’s phone, which police say Castro sent between last June or July and November.
