Relay for Life kickoff Mt. Prospect/Prospect Heights

Relay For Life

The Kickoff Celebration for the 2011 Relay for Life of Mt. Prospect/Prospect Heights will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16 at the Mt. Prospect Holiday Inn, 200 E. Rand Road.

Relay for Life is the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society. This year's event will be held Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21 in the Prospect High School stadium.

From 6 p.m. that Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday, teams of 10-15 individuals will walk laps around the Prospect track in celebration of those who have survived cancer and in memory of those who have lost their battle.

There will be entertainment, concessions, and several solemn ceremonies through the night.

The kickoff celebration is a great chance to obtain more information about the event, register a team, meet the committee members, purchase luminarias, register as a cancer survivor, or learn more about donating items for our raffle or becoming an event sponsor.
