Hawks’ Toews improving: ‘I feel pretty good’

When it comes to Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews returning to the lineup, it is beginning to sound as if it’s more of a question of when he’ll return rather than if.

After Toews skated Thursday for the first time since suffering a concussion, he took another big step Friday by participating in the team’s morning skate.

“I feel pretty good,” said Toews, who will sit for the ninth consecutive game when the Hawks host the New York Rangers tonight. “I feel like I’ve been off the ice doing nothing for three weeks, but considering the last two days on the ice it’s a lot better than I though I would be, so I’m pretty positive about that.”

Ÿ Mike Spellman will have more on Toews and the Blackhawks later today at dailyherald.com.
