Wheaton College - Artist Series -Turtle Island String Quartet

The Artist Series at Wheaton College presents Turtle Island Quartet in a performance at 8 p.m. Friday, April 27.

Putting a unique twist on classical music, Turtle Island Quartet performs contemporary music in a classic string quartet. Each member of the Quartet is dedicated to upholding the standards of 18th century string players while simultaneously keeping their program fresh and exciting.With a history of mastering numerous musical styles, the upcoming concert will feature a program of jazz music.

The concert will be held in Edman Memorial Chapel, located on the northeast corner of Washington and Franklin streets in Wheaton. Ticket prices range from $37-50 for general audience with discounts for students and seniors over 60. Ticket holders are invited to attend a free pre-concert talk from 7 to 7:30 p.m. in Edman Memorial Chapel East Wing. Wheaton Professor and Chicago Symphony lecturer Dr. Johann Buis introduces the music of John Coltrane and his immortal A Love Supreme.
