KONE expands Moline customer service operations center

Lisle-based Elevator and escalator builder KONE said it will move its move its Technical Services, Americas operations to a renovated facility in downtown Moline.

The renovated U.S. Operations Center at 325 19th St. will bring KONE employees, spare parts, training and technology under one roof to further enhance customer service throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico, the company said in a statement. It will be strategically located near the new KONE Centre, which will house administrative operations and the KONE Customer Care Center.

Currently, the Company’s spare parts division, KONE Spares and the KONE Customer Care Center are located in the building.

“The new KONE Technical Services Center, coupled with the new KONE Centre, will provide our employees with a leading workplace while enhancing customer service,” said Vance Tang, EVP and area director of KONE Americas.

The new KONE Centre is designed to meet gold LEED standards by focusing on energy efficiency and using recycled and renewable construction materials. It will feature KONE’s own energy-efficient building transportation solutions, including the KONE EcoDisc hoisting motor, power regenerative drives and destination control technology.

The Technical Services Center includes spare parts supply along with development and administration of Technical Support and Training programs for elevator and escalator service, modernization and construction employees throughout the Americas regions.

The new Technical Services Center is scheduled to open later this year, following the planned June opening of the KONE Centre.
