Smith & Adams to perform in Arlington Heights

The Northwest Suburban Community Concert Association, in partnership with District 214 Community Education, announced its third concert of the 2011-2012 season will feature world renowned fingerstyle guitarist Richard Smith and his wife, cellist Julie Adams.

The concert will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Forest View Educational Center Theater, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, in Arlington Heights. Tickets are $25 for adults, free for kids in K-12 with a paying adult. Individual tickets are available at the door, online at www.nscommunityconcerts.org or through District 214 at (847) 718-7702.

Smith & Adams bring a combination of Richard’s fireworks on the guitar, along with Julie’s lyrical style on the cello. Their repertoire comprises a variety of music, from classical Bach to Beatles pop.

Growing up in England, Richard once played in concert at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London with America’s internationally famous guitarist Chet Atkins. Julie was raised in Dayton, Ohio, trained at Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Cincinnati Conservatory.
