Let’s learn from our mistakes in Iraq
In 2002, the G.W. Bush administration was intent on regime change in Iraq and conducted a successful propaganda campaign based on faulty evidence that Saddam Hussein was in possession of “weapons of mass destruction” and intended to use them.
I now see a dangerously similar pattern, this time led mostly by hawks in the Congress and media, as they vilify Iran and its nuclear program based on slim and conflicting evidence, perhaps as prelude to yet another war that cannot be “won.” Look at Iraq and Afghanistan. Did we win or are we winning? Can we please learn from our failures?
