Algonquin Lions present $2,500 to stock food pantry shelves

The Algonquin Lions presented a $2,500 check to the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry from the proceeds raised by the Algonquin Lions-Buffalo Wild Wings Bean Bag Tournament held in August.

The Algonquin Lions have donated $6,000 to the food pantry in the last three years from funds raised by the annual bean bag tournament.

“We wanted the food pantry to have our check for the holidays to help our friends and neighbors in need,” said Ralph Crites, Algonquin Lions Club president. “Helping our friends and neighbors is very gratifying for the Algonquin Lions.”

The Algonquin Lions Club, which started in 1939, meets on the second and fourth Mondays of the month. For information, visit lionsclubofalgonquin.org.
