Aggregate Industries facilities earn safety honors

DES PLAINES — Aggregate Industries, a member of the Holcim Group, said several of its Midwest region facilities have been recognized by the Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association for achieving high occupational safety standards.

“It is rewarding to see that our facilities are continuing their legacy of upholding excellent safety records,” said Bernard Terver, president and chief executive officer of Aggregate Industries U.S. “This recognition is a testament to Aggregate’s mission, policies and training which are meant to ensure a culture of safety, while providing products and services of the highest quality to our customers.”

The WRMCA Occupational Safety Certifications of Recognition identify plants with an incident and severity rate below the Bureau of Labor and Statistics benchmark. The facilities who earned the award are Naperville yard, Streamwood yard, Warsaw, Ind. plant, Angola, Ind., plant, Goshen, Ind., plant, and Portable plant in Kenosha, Wis.  Aggregate Industries US emphasizes the importance of individual employee responsibility as it relates to safety and sets a zero incident goal for each facility.

The WRMCA is a local trade association that represents the producers of ready-mixed concrete in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The association advances industry interests through legislative action, promotion, and education. The WRMCA creates industrywide benchmarks for the betterment of quality and safety in the concrete community.
