Dining events: Dobby's Wine Dinner comes to Mago

More than margaritas

Dobby's Wine Dinner Tour heads south of the border for a five-course dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Mago Grill. Chef Juan Luis Gonzales' Mexican fare will be paired with wines selected by experts from the Palatine wine and spirits shop. Dinner costs $59 (tax and tip included). Burger bonanza

Tom & Eddie's gourmet burgers, which made the Daily Herald's Best of 2010 restaurant list with its Lombard location, now is open in Deerfield.

The family-friendly spot focuses on natural, organic products. As a nod to its nine signature burgers, customers who show up at the Deerfield restaurant in formal wear (dressed to the nines!) through June 23 will receive a free entree, side and soft drink. In addition, nine lucky people will win a weekly burger meal for an entire year.

Foie gras feast

To mark the anniversary of the repeal of Chicago's ban on foie gras, chef Didier Durand of Cyrano's has created a dinner that celebrates foie gras, duck and goose. Join him at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 19, for the cocktail hour and five-course meal. This ChicaGourmets dinner costs $89 for members; $99 for nonmembers.
