Chamber Leadership Academy makes changes to calendar

The Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Alumni Coordinators recently announced the Leadership Academy will follow a traditional school schedule with classes beginning in September and ending in May 2013.
“In addition to business owners, this schedule will allow area residents with school-age children the opportunity to apply to the academy without having to worry about sessions held when kids are home on summer vacation,” said Sandy Oslance, chamber president.
The Leadership Academy is a nine-month program designed to help individuals enhance their desire to learn more about their community. The goal is for participants to recognize and take on the challenge of making a difference through volunteering and participation in elective community activities. More than 60 adults ages 23 and older have graduated from the program.
