Campaigns distract leaders from leading

Why is it that children can’t pray in the public schools or have a minute of silence before classes start but the government can decide what the insurance companies can pay for the Christian organizations? I thought church and government were separate.

We the people better wake up before we become as Russia was — sneaking around to go to church services, etc. The government sends millions to foreign countries that we bombed (though we had no business being there) so they can rebuild. What about our country? People live in tents from past tornadoes, and other disasters and the churches and private citizens are supposed to donate to food pantries to feed the poor and jobless. Jobs are sent offshore and then we import the goods.

What about our armed forces? They put their lives on the line, come back in body bags and minus limbs. They come back to no jobs, and we the public are asked to supply toiletries and such. They can’t get help with unpaid mortgages because they bought on the G.I. plan.

Private citizens get help. The politicians should only campaign for three months before election and only be allowed to spend a certain amount on ads — especially negative ones. Money talks. They should be in their offices taking care of business on our behalf. When we work, we get paid if we’re on the job or else no check. We’re supposed to be a country of the people, for the people and by the people. Who elects the president? The electoral votes. Wake up, people, because we are in deep trouble. God help us.
