Driver taken to hospital after car pinned under truck in Wauconda
Wauconda police released few details Monday regarding a crash that resulted in a car becoming pinned under a semitrailer on Route 12.
Authorities said the car’s driver was taken to an unidentified hospital after the wreck occurred about 7 a.m. The extent of the driver’s injuries was unknown, police said.
Morning rush-hour traffic was blocked for about an hour in the left lane of southbound Route 12 near Route 59 while authorities worked at the crash site.
Police said the car ended up under the trailer as a result of the crash. They didn’t provide specifics on how the vehicle became wedged with the truck or whether any tickets were issued to either of the drivers.
