Candidates should be taking down signs

The day after the election, I saw DuPage County workers taking down campaign signs on County Farm Road. Taxpayers should not be paying to have these signs removed.

Maybe there should be a fine imposed on the candidate if the signs are not taken down within, say, 48 hours of an election. That should give some candidates the incentive they need to get the signs down.

If not, the revenue taken in from the fines could help cover the cost of taking them down.
