Wheaton police probe daytime home burglaries

Wheaton police are investigating three daytime home burglaries reported in the past three weeks, authorities said Friday.

In each case, glass at a rear door was shattered, and jewelry and computer equipment stolen.

The burglaries occurred starting Jan. 24 on the 600 block of South Dorchester Avenue, the 300 block of Birch Drive and the 1600 block of West Childs Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Cmdr. James Volpe at (630) 260-2055. Anyone who sees suspicious activity should call 911, police said.
