Celebrating 25 years of making a difference in young lives
Supporting our youth is one of society's most important tasks. It's with that in mind that several hundred bowlers will gather February 11th and 12th at the Stardust Bowl in Addison for the 25th anniversary Lutherbrook Bowl-A-Rama. Bowling takes place both days from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 to 4:45 p.m., providing an afternoon of fun while helping Lutherbrook youth. This special anniversary event marks twenty-five years of bowling, twenty-five years of community and twenty-five years of making a difference in young lives.
Lutherbrook Child and Adolescent Center provides specialized residential treatment for youth ages 7-18. The youth arrive from variety of life circumstances, and most have experienced a serious trauma in their lives. They come to Lutherbrook to receive individualized therapy in a compassionate, nurturing and stable environment. It is through this care that they are able to heal, grow and reach their full potential.
Supporters may donate or register online by visiting www.lcfs.org/bowlarama. Bowlers can further support the event by creating their own individual Bowl-A-Rama web pages, which make it easy to collect and track pledges from family and friends. A pledge form, which contains registration and sponsorship information, is also available at www.lcfs.org/bowlarama. Anyone with pledges totaling $125 or more will receive a special 25th anniversary gift. For more information, contact the Special Events team at events@lcfs.org or 708-488-5558.
As part of the 25th anniversary event, Bowl-A-Rama founder and former Lutherbrook employee George Pasko is scheduled to participate in the festivities. The support, dedication and hard work of George and the hundreds of participants, volunteers and staff who have make the Bowl-A-Rama such a huge success will also be celebrated. There will also be an exhibition of art produced by youth in the Lutherbrook Art Therapy program, including both 2-D and 3-D works.
Adding further to the excitement is a raffle for a 64GB iPad 2 and accessories or a four-night trip with round-trip airfare for two. There will be numerous other prize opportunities throughout the event.
The Lutherbrook Bowl-A-Rama is again generously underwritten by Noland Sales Corporation (Wood Dale, Illinois), meaning that all proceeds will go towards the purchase of new furniture and fixtures for the Lutherbrook youth. If the amount of money raised exceeds what is required to purchase the targeted items, those funds will be used for day-to-day needs of the youth. Bowl-A-Rama has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past quarter century.
